Measurement and Data Level E

  1. Mastery of Level D
  2. Representing Data
    Students will be able to:
    • Represent data by plotting it on a number line
    • Summarize numerical data by the number of observations, how it was
measured, and units of measure; identify mean, median, mode and
patterns within data; by explaining variability within a data set; and by
explaining how the choice of central measure affects the shape of the distribution
  3. Interpreting Categorical and Quantitative Data
    Students will be able to:
    • Account for the effects of outliers in a data set
    • Summarize, represent, and interpret data on two variables
    • Recognize associations and trends in the bivariate data
    • Interpret linear models of data, applying understanding of slope and
intercept in reference to statistical data
    • E. Recognize the difference between correlation and causation
